Also if it is possible consider getting one of the higher wattage Compact Flourescent bulbs (I like the 55 watt) such as http://www.fullspectrumsolutions.com...ct_68_prd1.htm I just made an extension cord with a plastic light socket on the end and hung the bulb near the orchids. They put out high amounts of light with little cost.
I don't grow Oncidiums but concur with what has already been said...light, light and more light. They do need quite a bit and a north window just isn't enough. It does look healthy though...you'll have blooms in no time flat and we expect pictures.
Does anyone have some pseudobulbs or a small cutting of Miltassia "Darth Vader" for sale? I need to replace mine accidentally left out in the cold this past fall!
