Every time I look at this flower I think how amazing it is: 15cm across!! It is something to drool at when you know that it can give as many as 12 or 13!! of these on a single floral stem (and I am not a fisherman!!! Two years ago I saw a plant with 13 on a single stem!). Mine flowered last December and is flowering now again. Enjoy!

Wonderful. I think I want one of these. Say Mauro, is that a seed pod in the second picture?

It's amazing. The colors remind me of the scorpion orchid.

I see a seed pod in the picture.....what will you do with it? Do you have the proper conditions to sprout the seeds or do you just throw it out? Along with a friend we pollinated a vanilla orchid. Quite a long process to get the seeds I understand. By leaving the pod on the plant does it pull energy from it? If you don't use are you keeping just for show or seeing how it develops?

I selfed it last December, Don. As soon as the pod matures I'll send the seeds to a specialized lab to sow. I don't leave undesired pods on the plants because, as you well say, keeping a pod drains energy from the plant.

About what will it cost to have the lab sow the seeds? How many will you get? Do you exchange some of the sprouted plants for the cost of the lab work or sell them to another grower? Just curious.
