She's gorgeous. I purchased a Shelob in bud at an orchid show in early May. It bloomed one week later and the blossom still looks fresh and beautiful. Do you know how to treat the spike once the bloom has expired?

I suppose just cut the spike near the base like with other Oncidia? Then come the fall ease back on food and water a bit? Haven't thought that far ahead yet!! Am I on the mark?

Very nice, Vicky! I have a Shelob 'Red Spider' that is in spike for the first time so I'm anxiously waiting! Thanks for sharing.

I don't know either. That's why I was asking you. Maybe another member could provide the answer.

Very beautiful! Does it have a scent?
You can tell when the spike is spent, then you cut it down, yes. I love this bloom.

They're supposed to smell like Cherry Jello but I can't detect an odor on mine at all. How about you, Vickyth?
