The pendulous spike is from Brs caudata, which is often grown mounted. I suppose you could grow Datacosa mounted if you had a big enough mount. It is a large plant, mine has 4 mature growths and 1 new one, and is starting to grow over the edge of a 6" pot. Must be hybrid vigor, I've never seen a caudata or verrucosa as big as this.

Just thought I'd post an update on the seed pod, it's been one month since pollination. The cross is Datacosa 'Coos Bay' AM/AOS x Edvah Loo 'Nishida' HCC/AOS.

That was a stunning Brassia. How long did it bloom and did you say that it took 12 years to flower? Hope the seed works out well.
