Default Tolumnia Jairak Firm ‘Spotty’

This particular plant doesn’t spike as often as some others in my collection seem to, but I can always appreciate 10+ flowers at the start of the show—there’s 12 in total, and although the photo doesn’t quite do it justice, the shingling is pretty satisfying!

You live in a great climate for Tolumnias, and this one looks quite happy. Beautiful display!

I love these things—you could live in a shoebox and still have room to grow them!

Thanks, Dimples! If I allow madness to overtake me, that tree WILL eventually be covered in different Tolumnia—there’s a nursery nearby that deeply discount these once they’re done blooming and I grab em when I can!

Thank you, Roberta—they’ve never let me down except for that time I insisted on growing in full sun In all seriousness though, it’s easy to be captivated by larger flowers, but at the same time, these little sprite-like bursts of color have a magic all of their own and are, in my opinion, invaluable accents on the trees!

And unlike most of the bigger ones, they often can rebloom on old spikes. And bloom often. And have wonderful colors. Little gems, indeed.
