Default Gomesa alpina question

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has ever kept or knows anything about Gomesa alpina? Plants are being offered from a vendor that I really like, but I can't really find any info online about them. I like fragrant plants and was considering adding this, but...
Thanks in advance!

I have no experience with that species. But I did find a Baker culture sheet on it in Orchidwiz. It seems to be really forgiving of temperature range - 100 deg F down to 32 deg F. Native to Brazil. It like high humidity all year but especially wants lots of water in summer. (a little less winter humidity in winter, but shouldn't dry out). If you want to get the Baker sheet on this (or other species) check out Orchid Culture -- Charles and Margaret Baker ... 10 species for $10 won't break the bank, don't have to all be ordered at the same time.

IOSPE doesn't have much information, but give a range of elevation of 800-1500 m, which supports the wide temperature range in the Baker sheet.

Wow! Thanks Roberta! It must not be a very commonly kept species, so I think that means that I should buy it

Absolutely go for it! It also looks like it is pretty forgiving. You are a person after my own heart... oddball obscure species are the best!
