Finally, my Psychopsis Mariposa 'Green Valley' is in glorious bloom! It was growing well outdoors in a suitable setup for my area (moist potting medium, in shady conditions, with intermediate to warm temperatures). However, the past spring and summer seasons turned out to be brutal when it came to "warm" temperatures. So, I believe the previous promising buds on this orchid blasted every time due to heat stress.
This past winter I brought all of my psychopsis orchids indoors. This spring season turned out to be even hotter than last year! So, I decided to keep them indoors during springtime this year and more carefully monitor their growing conditions (60-85 degrees, medium light level, good air flow) -- and voila!
