Can we see the entire plant plz. I've seen this hybrid at shows and they go fast. Some even look blacker with the sunny yellow...this is so pretty.

I discovered the hard way these need much more water than my other Oncidiums need. Be careful and don't let it dry out even once.

I've seen them on sale at almost every events but never think of buying them because I was already going over my budget when I found them. I've seen that the size of the flower can double in size.

Question Please help my Jiaho Queen

Beautiful presentation on the Jiaho Queen. I'm jealous and have two questions:
Why is our plant growing bulbs that seem to be climbing one on top of the other but no spikes yet? We have one plant that has grown three bulbs over the last year, but nary a spike in sight. Any thoughts? Each new bulb seems to be sitting on the "shoulder" of the previous bulb. Is this normal, or are we doing something wrong?

Second: everywhere I read that the medium should be allowed to dry out between waterings, but here I see different advice: "these need much more water than my other Oncidiums need. Be careful and don't let it dry out even once." What is the real scoop here, please?

Oncidiums do need to stay damp, in general. Many Oncidiums, and perhaps this is one, that are "climbers" by nature. I don't grow this particular one, but lots of them have a rhizome that grows more vertically than horizontally. (Very useful in nature where they grow on the trunks of trees, not so useful when humans are trying to keep them in pots)
