Default Rootless Psychopsis

A thoughtful, sweet friend of mine purchased psychopsis orchids for me and herself. It was from a place called Seattle Orchids and it was listed to sell quickly. They were very clear in the ad (which I had seen after she purchased them and suprises me with the news) in that the leaves were beaten up and the plants needed repotted. She received the plants yesterday and repotted hers. She told me it is completely rootless. I am getting my plant from her today and am worried that the plant will also be rootless. I have seen multiple times bits of advice all over the internet. They are as follows:
1. Place the plant in some moist medium and then place the plant in a bag or tent of some type to help retain moisture and then leave it.
2. Put rooting hormone on the plant where roots should be.
3. Soak the plant in something like superthrive and then plant it and tent.
4. Toss the plant

Any of these bits of advice useful? Any advice you can give? I have some medium thats supposed to do well for psychopsis orchids. It's from repotme. If it lacks roots, should I place it In sphagnum moss? I really hate tossing plants if there is something I can try to do to save it. I appreciate you all!!! Thanks!!!!
