Miltonia Maui Sunset
This is my one and only Miltonia. I ordered it from I.N. Komoda Orchids when I got my warmth tolerant Masdies.
It is a warmth tolerant Milt and should be fragrant but I don't smell anything yet. I'll check throughout the day. It has two spikes loaded with buds! It's gonna be a great coupla days around here
This picture really doesn't do it justice...
Laura, I need you!

Wow, that is sooooo pretty!!! I love the colors too. I've never seen one that color before and now it's my new favorite. I bet it's going to be a knockout when it's in full bloom!

I like it, but don't see it being warm tolerant even with a good dose of Milt. roezlii in the background. It still is an intermediate grower, and as long as you keep it under 80F or so during the day and 60F at night, everything will be okay. Miltoniopsis get stressed at higher temperatures compared to Miltonias which can handle the summer heat.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed
If I see she's not happy once the really hot weather comes, I'll be moving her inside. It's most likely what I'll do with the Masdies too...why take chances?

Hi Sue! I have a question that is gnawing at me. First, I love your Milt! You mentioned it's suppose to be fragrant. I understood (not sure where I learned this) that Miltonias don't have a fragrance, but Miltoniopsis do.
I also have a Milt. that is very fragrant and I assumed it was Miltoniopsis. The tag read Milt. Do you know which it is?

The tag says Milt but I was under the impression it was Miltoniopsis...but when I search for that in Orchidwiz, it finds it under Miltonia.
I sniffed it at various times throughout the day and smelled nothing but I love it anyway!

Interesting conversation. . .and lovely orchid. It really does look like a daylilly at first glance!
