Really nice Milt Sue! Mine was blooming for 3 months straight, and is only just now on it's last flower.

Goodluck with it!

Much of this confusion arises from the fact that Miltoniopsis are still registered by the RHS as Miltonias.
Before the taxonomists split them up, they were all lumped together as Miltonias hence they are all still called by some in a generic sense.

Miltoniopsis are cool growers native to Colombia and Panama and appreciate moisture. Typically they bloom in late spring.

Miltonias are heat tolerant and are native to Brazil. They grow like weeds and are easy to grow for most people, and are summer bloomers.

Thanks Bill

Why, oh why, do "they" have to make things so darn confusing?

The second spike has now budded and opened...the fragrance is almost overwhelming, smells like roses.

It's even more gorgeous! I need an orchid that smells like roses! That's so cool.

I got it from I. N. KOMODA ORCHIDS and it's supposed to be warmth tolerant...certainly seems to be holding up in this Florida heat

Wow, Sue. That is nice! I am glad to hear it is tolerating the heat. Maybe I will try one of those. Do you think there will be a vendor with those at the show tomorrow?
