I like the markings too! Thats why I bought it... It was an impulse buy at an orchid show 3 yrs ago. You know when you land up walking away from a show with orchids that you aren't quite sure why you bought them, but they just landed up being purchased?- this is one of those buys haha I bought another one last week, it should bloom in about 3-4 weeks, so I'm excitied.

Your orchid is so beautiful! I just love milts! I've only had mine for a couple months and already I'm worrying about making it happy. Please tell me your tricks! What kind of light do you give it? How about the temps? I know they like it a little cooler and I'm getting worried it might get too hot in the summer here. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I love milts too! I don't think many people grow them though. I give mine lots of light, it is in a south facing window with a sheer curtain. It gets about as much light as it will tolerate; the leaves are slightly pink at the tips. During the summer I keep mine outside in a shady location. I live in Montreal Canada, but the summers are still pretty hot. I read that temperatures over 30 degrees celcius is too warm, though a few days here and there won't hurt. From September to June, mine is indoors, with average household temperatures.

Gloria/Lagoon has helped me out quite a bit, and has given me lots of information!

The miltoniopsis I bought from them is still a few weeks away from blooming, so their milts are a few weeks behind my other miltoniopsis plants. They had quite a few available (their website has the list of them, but no pictures) I have a Herralexandre or somthing like that from them also- its a white flower with red and yellow near the center. I think they were 25$ for a plant with one large flowering pseudobulb, and 30$ for a larger plant with 2 mature growths. ( I chose the larger one ). The only thing is that they don't have all of their orchids for sale , there is a sale section of the greenhouse where they have a few of each for sale. For instance, they have 4-5 of each plant. I wanted the Miltoniopsis Helier 'Lavender Charm', but it wasn't in the room. Oh ,and the person working there only spoke french, so communicating with them was difficult I don't know french orchid lingo . They also don't check their e-mail , I sent an e-mail asking if they would sell orchids from another part of their greenhouse if I know which one I wanted, but I never got a reply.haha

oh and I ALWAYS find a centipede in their milts... my last one had one, and last night, I went to do the skewer test on my two week old 'red tide', and guess what.... I touched another centipede!! oh and my sharry baby came with a spider that jumps ... I thought it was cute until it started jumping around my kitchen... oh and the place was neat and clean/ not infested with insects.. I just think I was unlucky haha

So you should def go there!
