This has to be a tetraploid. First bloom.

other than the scientific definition of tetraploidity, i do not understand or appreciate the meaning - what does that mean and how can you tell? forgive my ignorance on this but having 4 times the chromosomes seems like a crazy mutation and i am not educated enough to know

It would be a debilitating genetic mutation in animals but for plants tetraploidy generally makes the plants larger and more vigorous.
