Brassias are not really my thing, but when someone gives you a gift, you keep it.

When I received it, it was growing in a bark mix. After 6+ months, it became clear that this mix did not work with my watering schedule (twice a week in winter and 3 times a week in summer). I now grow it in a plastic pot with almost pure spaghnum.

With this combination it is moist/wet all the time, and growing extremely well. This plant is super-vigorous, each lead produces 2 new growths. Here it is in an 8" pot with 4 spikes.

In the background is a Brassia Rex 'Tahoma' AM/AOS. The spots on those flowers are not as distinct as those on the 'Christina' clone, so that is the one I prefer.

How lovely!! I love Brassias but all three that I have ever owned rotted and died. I gave up on them.
