Default Oncidium Tom Wilson 'Ruby Red' - Mini Missing Floral Bits

Well now. . .I really do love the size of this one and I had quite high hopes for a deep ruby red bloom. . .so was sort of surprised when I got these blooms with missing bits.

I bought this one in bud and maybe it got too dry, during the bud growth stage, at the greenhouse where I bought it? The roots were quite shriveled on top.

Suppose the color and form could improve next blooming cycle?

I love the size of this little oncidium and I love the little spots on it's leaves but I am, I am sorry to say, not loving the blooms.

This flattering photo taken today. Did I mention I had the day off? lol

Gwen perhaps the color will deepen as the blooms mature? Happens sometimes. It's cute none the less.

I think Chris must be right. This is Tolumnia week.
