Put the pots together, fill it until gauge is all the way up. Then look and see where water comes to on inside.

Whoops! Hit the wrong button. My guess is it goes pretty far up, but I'm not familiar with the pots...never used one.
After that, for a six-inch pot, probably around a 2" or little less reservoir. You don't want the plants old roots sitting in water. So put in enough water so it's around 2" deep. Mark the gauge with something (liquid paper, fingernail polish, etc) where you want the gauge to stop when it's "full" or at the right height.
Then put in LECA (you've already soaked it) up to approximately 2" plus one "ball" of LECA higher. Put plant in and fill rest of way up with LECA. That keeps old roots out of the reservoir.
After that... If new roots grow into reservoir, you don't care.
