i got this beauty from Kalapana and she had a healthy spike on her.

I typically expect that shipping will kill a new spike but it rebounded and has picked up right where it left off.

this one was funny because the five outer petals and sepals opened like three days before the lip fully opened

slow to speak, i suppose

Beautiful. I've avoided Beallaras thinking they might not like my warm-in-summer house. But it's pretty warm where you live.

it sure is....they do well here ...the flowers don't stick around quite as long as they might for some but i do okay with the genus

here is another bloom

they have nice subtle variation from flower to flower which makes it a fun experience to have a big spike bloom
