Question Onc.heaven scent flat pseudobulbs help!!

.. I could use some help . I got a Heaven scent onc . From a nursery last summer (August). The leaves are nice & green & getting tall but the psbulbs are going flat ! . It’s in a 4” pot . I have a layer of spagnum moss on top of the medium (small bark & perlite ,that’s how I got it) . I spray the top moss when it becomes dry ..maybe 2 times a week & water whole plant weekly .. I weakly fertilize once or twice a month . I have it in front of east window & for last 2-3 weeks a grow lamp. I don’t understand why the pseudobulbs are flat! Am I doing something wrong? Any help , advice or ideas are greatly appreciated..

Agreed, plus older pbulbs can go flat as they age.

I’d check the root health first. Even if it’s getting water, if it doesn’t have roots to take it up, the plant won’t hydrate. If it seems to have plenty of live roots, you may need to up your watering frequency. I try to water mine whenever the substrate approaches dryness.

If the roots are bad and it hasn’t been repotted, you may want to repot it. Media will depend on your conditions. I use small grade bark too which lets me get away with weekly watering under my conditions. I would tend to shy away from a moss top dressing as this would seem to promote uneven moisture.

Agreed w aliceinwl. However, I have no idea what your indoor climate is. I water mine twice a week, and it actually could sit in water and be happy. These are thirsty plants. Mine is seldom out of bloom.
