Default Oncostele (Wilsonara) Tan Treasures

I bought this last year and this is its first bloom. The plant itself is kind of rough looking, probably because I can't keep it as cool as it would prefer, but the flowers are very nice. There are 8 of them, and they are about two inches. It gets so hot in Texas in the summer, I certainly can't grow Odontoglossum/Odontioda, and I haven't been very successful with Wilsonara either, but I do have a Rhynchostele (it's probably a primary hybrid) which has done well, so I thought maybe this Oncostele might work out better for me than the other previously-Wilsonaras I have tried, and it has.

Well done! You have found one that CAN adapt to your conditions... one certainly can't argue with success! Fortunately, plants can't read, don't tell this one that it is an outlier...

That's very nice! Very pretty colors, autumn-like. Reminds me of the leaves that are falling in abundance here in Michigan right now.

I always tended to keep my greenhouse warm, so had issues with those until I got them established in semi-hydro culture. I suppose the evaporative cooling of the root system was a bit of a "plus" for them.

Very nice! Petals look like they're on fire.
