Brassia or Oncidium

I bought this little orchid off of eBay last year and it is suppose to be a Brassia (Brown Spots flower), this was written on the tag. I have not been able to get it to produce a flower stalk.

It looks like an Oncidium. Could someone tell me what it is???

Brassia is a genus included in the Oncidium alliance. in other words, it shares many characteristics with other members of the Oncidium alliance, including the actual genus Oncidium. if the vendor sold it as a Brassia, then it probably is.

It could also be an Oncidium-tribe intergeneric hybrid. The various genera in this group can interbreed, so hybridizers have done a lot of mixing and matching. You'll need to see a flower to get close (not likely to get an exact ID) but the culture for the whole group is pretty similar.
