Tolumnia on holey rock?
Default Tolumnia on holey rock?

I'm new to Tolumnias and recently ordered some from an orchid store. I saw someone here posted a Tolumnia rooted onto a piece of lava rock (a pretty big one) and really liked the way it looked.

I don't have any lava rock of that size but I do have Texas holey rock (limestone). I was wondering if the calcium content may be detrimental to this genus or if anyone has tried it themselves. I have the perfect rock for this so I'm really hoping someone here will say that it should be fine, lol.
Thanks for any insights, inputs or simply musings of the orchid grower.
The photos are of the same piece, both sides with a mechanical pencil for scale. What do yall think?

I had a very large holey rock in an aquarium with cichlids. When I shut it down, I had several Tolumnia growing on them for a few years. They did well, and I liked the way the limestone stayed hydrated... I had it sitting in a large bowl of water. Just need to remember keep it warm enough (water+stone = cooler temps) and keep it breezy.

Now that I think about it, it was a pretty cool mount. May need to go grab one of those out of the garden and do another go-round. Hmmmmm.
