Received my oncidium heaven scent today and her two large bulbs are severely wrinkled and seem dehydrated. I was told by the seller that this is normal for this type but I've seen pictures of the same plant and they have mostly plump bulbs.
One person told me to soak her for a few hours. Is this right and are there any other things i can do for her? The roots look great and I put her in bark with moss.
Orchids with pseudobulbs and canes will use their stored water and nutrients to keep the plant going when times get rough. If the root system is good your bulbs should start to reinflate but they may never completely lose the wrinkles but bear in mind that some types of orchid naturally have wrinkly bulbs or canes. Only time will tell.
