The first time Dolly got a lion cut, I bought her a sweater. She just kept falling over. There was no reason she couldn't walk with it on, it seemed to be her way of expressing her displeasure.

I own two Cardis - the Corgi with the rudder they're sometimes referred by Agility folks. I started out with Pems nearly 20 years ago. I love both breeds but its getting harder to find Pems with decent temperaments along with drive. Both can have a Napoleon complex if given half a chance (give 'em an inch and they think they're a ruler). I really love an old British Kennel club description for the the Cardis: A short legged Alsatian.

I can just picture that.

I really like the Cardigan Welsh Corgis, and I've thought if I ever decide to get a smaller breed, that would definitely be one I would be interested in. I own Dobermans, so I'm used to dogs with drive and intensity.

This morning is colder than yesterday morning, as this system moves eastward. We've reached -16F. As I put my chilly dogs outside this morning, though, I was greeted by the beautiful sight of a waning crescent moon, with Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn all lined up around it in the clear early dawn sky. That made it worth sticking my head outside the door for a bit!
Starting Saturday, they're predicting five days in a row of temps in the 40s and 50s. Unusual for February, but I won't be complaining.
Correction: What I initially thought was Saturn is actually the bright red giant star Antares. Saturn is there to be seen farther east but was below my tree line here.

Birthday gift for our couples friends. Thank you. I'm doing a series of 4 named after 80s rock bands. Our friend loves the Mooody Blues. I'll send you a pic when I get the bling on and get it on the pole and stand..

Has everybody thawed out a bit? Back to work? Cars starting and roads clear? Pets able to linger outdoors at least a little?
I hope you are all well and warm.
