well, it does seem to be getting to me now.
I'm becoming a bit depressed.
The possibility that we may have to evacuate eventually seems to be looking like it might be getting closer.
Last night we went down and checked on a friend's home.
The lava was almost om their property,

Gail is looking down their driveway checking their house.
By morning, their house was gone.
After that I went up to the only place in Leilani where you can look out over the flows North of us.
I shot this hand held.

Then I tried it from a tripod:

It's one thing to see it in photos and videos.
But, it is stupefying to see it with your own eyes.
It looks so apocalyptic, the end of the world, or maybe the birth.
It feels more like the end, though.
The lava in the subdiv has crossed the road that goes up to where the videos were shot.
I can not go back up there to take more.
The eruptions are moving up the fissure line again, getting closer to our place.
I truely believe we are safe from lava getting the house.
But, it might get close enough that the danger from gasses might be too much to stay around for.
We could end up staying at the home a friend that is out of town right now, and is not planning on comming back before this is sorted out.
It will be one of the most impressive event in out lives, once it is over.
If it follows the usual course for these types of events, it could go on for 3 months or more.
