Whoa! Front row seats. I'm with Dolly... a little too close to the stage for my comfort level. Take Good Care!

Tutu Pele has certainly had her way with all you good people. Praying she'll say enuf is enuf and safety can be restored.

I saw something the other day that tickled me:

"The only way to save Hawaii is to sacrifice a sitting US president."

Your situation has just made it to our news hour on the TV night spot. A bit behind!

We wish you all the best from here. As well as your plants.

Hope things don't get any worse for you, though nothing is as unpredictable as a volcano.

Thanks for staying in touch with us, even here in Europe we have very regular updates on the situation in the evening news, and I often wonder how you are faring.

We may have a front row seat, it may be the focal point of our lives right now, and it is spectacular, but the attached image puts it into proper perspective:

well, it does seem to be getting to me now.
I'm becoming a bit depressed.
The possibility that we may have to evacuate eventually seems to be looking like it might be getting closer.

Last night we went down and checked on a friend's home.
The lava was almost om their property,

Gail is looking down their driveway checking their house.

By morning, their house was gone.

After that I went up to the only place in Leilani where you can look out over the flows North of us.
I shot this hand held.

Then I tried it from a tripod:

It's one thing to see it in photos and videos.
But, it is stupefying to see it with your own eyes.
It looks so apocalyptic, the end of the world, or maybe the birth.
It feels more like the end, though.

The lava in the subdiv has crossed the road that goes up to where the videos were shot.
I can not go back up there to take more.

The eruptions are moving up the fissure line again, getting closer to our place.
I truely believe we are safe from lava getting the house.
But, it might get close enough that the danger from gasses might be too much to stay around for.
We could end up staying at the home a friend that is out of town right now, and is not planning on comming back before this is sorted out.

It will be one of the most impressive event in out lives, once it is over.
If it follows the usual course for these types of events, it could go on for 3 months or more.

Yikes, Mike! I am praying for your safety (and others) the least and most I can do.
