She's a tough old bird...

Hi all. I've just returned from a trip to Ohio (Cincinnati) to see my mother. She's going to be 89 in July. I haven't been out to see her in quite a long time. (I did see her in New York in 2010)
She is unbelievably tough. In 2016 she was hit by a car, and very badly hurt. She'd broken nearly every bone on the left side of her body.
Even before this incident, she was in such a painful state from various surgeries that she could not come to Vermont to be with me when I had a terrible personal loss, and then this happened.
She was in rehab for over 8 months, and believe it or not, she still lives in her own home. There are people who come and help her, and my younger sister stays with her 5 to 6 times a year.
So, needless to say, it was both a shock and a pleasure to see her and spend time. I plan on flying out again in September. Her strength leaves me stunned and amazed...
