Ha, this sounds like me! I still use a desktop computer as my primary. I need it for my job (I work at home), but it's also the one I use to surf the Internet and visit my discussion forums. I have a laptop, but I still have trouble with the keyboard on that. With my desktop, I use the old-fashioned IBM Model M keyboards.
I don't even own a smart phone because I have a hard time seeing anything on those little screens. I can't imagine trying to type something on one. So I stick with an old flip-style phone that just makes telephone calls and do all my Internet stuff on my desktop or maybe my laptop.
But GP, I can see how your tablet would be very nice if your phone was your only computer before. Congrats!!!
I don't know if I could do the key board on one at all. My dear hubby also got me a lap desk and mouse to use with it. It's wonderful so works just like the tabletop. I at first tried the key board and had no luck.
One of my daughters uses her tablet for everything and has no need of a computer. She does back everything up with cloud storage, though, just in case something happens to her tablet.
