What does your user name mean to you?!
I can't help noticing the interesting and diverse user names members have chosen, and often wonder how the member came about choosing it. Mine is fairly self explanatory, 'greenpassion', but there some on here are just intriguing!

Here's a good contribution to this thread.
And I believe there's another one where I posted mine.
Anyway...rbarata. Barata is my family name and the "r" is my first name's letter.
No mistery att all!

Ah, thanks for the link! There were quite a few responses there from people who are still active.
I wish I could say my name refers to the fact that I am very athletic and I climb mountains -- but that would not be true. It's actually a reference to a favorite vehicle of mine, a 2001 Mercury Mountaineer that currently has around 240,000 miles on it. The 370 is the last three digits of the VIN, and I added that just to distinguish it.

Copied from that other post:
'I really love the leaves of plants as they are so different, unique and beautiful. They are the identity for most plants. The 'mite' is from our beloved Eskie-dog as we use that as part of her nick-name.'

Obviously Dolly the junkyard cat is my avatar. However since Jack passed she has not had one psychotic episode and has been very sweet. I may have to change to Dollythehon.[/QUOTE]
Dolly the junkyard cat? I'm not familiar...?

I've had several friends and co-workers for whom I've revived nearly-dead orchids. I overheard one tell a co-worker "he's some kind of orchid whisperer", which I thought was funny, so I chose it as a username for Orchidboard. I've been called OW by a few other friends too.
Later, I found that there's a guy that wrote a book on orchids that calls himself OW. To avoid confusion, I've asked to change my username on OB to something else, but no success so far. If you ever see a post with a different name, but the same picture for the avatar (carved Halloween pumpkin), it's still me.

...and here I was just picturing all the heights that you had ascended and what the 370 represented within them.

Ahem...well, after seeing all the humor that my explanation of my user name generated, I kinda wish I had just said I climb mountains and I have 370 summits to my credit.
