Lucille, that was really uncalled for. Carol is one of the nicest people on here. She was just trying to stop a thread from getting out of hand. You have not been here long enough to know we try not to talk politics here even on the open forum. There are plenty of forums out there to do just that.

I know you didn't start it, but you did start the name calling. And I believe that is what Carol was referring to. And I don't think that gains anyone's respect.

Lucille, I'm not demanding your respect (or that you respect anyone, thats your choice). I'm asking that you keep any name calling to other forums or relationships. Here is a rule of thumb we use at work:
1. Is it true?
2. Is it kind?
3. Does it attack the problem and not the person?
4. Is it current?
5. Is it helpful?
6. How would the person feel if they heard it?

Again, and I do not mean this snarky at all. We've all welcomed you warmly, please give us (collectively) the courtesy of no name calling. There are others (you know who you are) who stir the pot, please don't. "When faced with the choice of being right or kind, choose kind."

Those who do not have my respect because they have not earned it will not get it from me, and you cannot badger me into giving fake respect.

One earns the respect a police officer deserves the first day they pin on the badge. From that point on they deserve it unquestioningly unless they do something specific which warrants removal of the badge. The same goes for our elected officials. Can you honestly say you have respected the office of POTUS for a single second since Mr Trump's inauguration? I personally haven't picked a winner for POTUS since 1984, and have found little to agree with most if the actions of the occupiers of the office. But this cycle has given me a small consolation that none of my previous disappointments provided. I have watched an endless parade of putatively rational adults make complete idiots of themselves over this. The numbers are simply unprecedented. And really, who doesn't enjoy a parade?

Already dug up, but something got to it. I buried $1.26. dug up $1.01, a quarter is gone. Methinks a squirrel got it. Hope he has plenty of unexpected food coming his way this year.
