I bought poison date cubes and The Traps that you put the cubes in last night. I put the poison around the garage and basement and hidden away places so on the off-chance that my dogs didn't follow me on my way through there, they would not be able to get the poison. I just have to not think about it. I still have the traps in the house behind my trash can and things like that but the basement and garage and the crawl space underneath my living room area will all have poison placed there.

The above link shows illustrations of people about to use a firearm or pellet rifle to shoot a rodent inside a house. This is so completely insane and stupid I have to remind people not to do this.

I also question how humane carbon dioxide is for killing. This produces the same sensation as holding your breath too long... and longer... and longer... until you die without being able to take a breath. Suffocation is a horrible way to die. I have tried to discuss this with my vet but got nowhere.

Am I misunderstanding here ES? Does your vet use Suffocation as a means to put an animal down?

No. But the link mentioned above reports (correctly) that it is a common method.

Things eating other rodents in traps can be rats, pack rats, raccoons, opossums, weasels, cats, foxes, wolves, coyotes, and almost any other omnivore living around you.
