With an M. Ed. you will have lots of opportunities available to you. Teaching is one, but school administration, curriculum development, corporate training, etc. are other possibilities.

Actually just having a masters in anything elevates your salary in many jobs. Right now I am going into job counseling with the state. Good insurance, many perks, good vacation time, and you don't take your work home with you.
I also have a lot of experience (not recent) in grant and proposal writing. I'd like to get back into that.
And yes, I can do things like corporate training and all kinds of other teaching. I was never interested in teaching. The job is a mess. I think the people who do it are supernatural. I have tried subbing, and I did not take to it at all. The majority of what you do is marching kids from the bathroom and back. I'll bet no more than 2-3 hours are actually spent teaching, the rest is babysitting, and then you go home and work unpaid for 4 more hours. Most people who try it get out of teaching after 3 years. I am ahead of the crowd by not going into it in the first place.

Maybe out there, but in the school district my kids went through, it is damned near impossible for a young teacher to break in.
Starting salary near $70k, and great benefits, which - along with your full-salary pension - continue in retirement.

Could be. Starting salary for a teacher out here is 33K, not 70K. That's with a Master's degree.
