That one is not the true Celandine, it's a native species. I noticed a plant coming up not far away that looks like the true European Celandine. Too dark now but I'll put up pics of the leaves of each tomorrow for comparison.They're invasive here, so I'll let it flower, deaedhead it before it sets seed and nuke it this summer with Roundup.

We have a dry woods. I brought a few home from a client's house...Now, I have, well...You'll see. But, it's a difficult area, do its ok. And if they get in the lawn, I mow them off.

I believe these are tulip tarda. Amazing tulips that selfseed. I started off with 10 about 8 years ago and now have hundreds. Great for under shrubs and part Sun areas. I transplanted some into full sun but they all died off after 2nd season.

First pic is the true, invasive Celandine. Second pic is our native species. The leaves are quite similar but definitely different:

If they're in bloom now they're likely the native. If so, you seriously need to look into some Virginia bluebells. They bloom together and an open woodland full of a random mix of the two is a true sight to behold!

Man, I need to move south a bit. You guys got flowers and here I was simply excited 90% of the snow it gone and some of the trees finally have little leaf nubs 
Beautiful plants anyhow. I love those tulips especially! |
