Nepenthes burbidgeae crosses

I just wanted to share a plant victory I had with nepenthes. I received these in poor shape yellow leaves and dead pitchers from shipping, but in a few months time of growing here in arizona I have gotten them to pitcher and grow lush new leaves!

Don't let anyone tell you that a plant can't grow in marginal conditions because I have been successful with these in my hot and dry house.

I would agree. My N. maxima and N. alata did rather well last summer outdoors in spite of temps ranging to 110 F.
Nice plants. I especially like the red mottling in the third picture!

Pitcher plants are amazing! When I lived in North Carolina I was friends with a professor at UNC-Charlotte who enthusiastically breeds them - Larry Mellichamp. Also, I once carved a smoking pipe for a friend to look like a Nepenthes, and an accompanying tamper to look like the flower.
