Oh, rbarata! How lovely! I can't see a thing here that green yet. Maybe in two weeks I'll have some daffodils. We have thousands but, they are just poking up now. Thank you for posting.
How old would you guess those olive trees to be?

This landscape changes dramatically during the year, especially in Spring. Probably in 3 weeks all that white will be replaced by yellow and, in late Spring, a lot of different colors mix and create what seems to be a live Renoir painting.
I'll try to post photos.

Hard to say, but they seem young (for an olive tree), probably no more than 200 years.

That's what I would have guessed. Thank you again.

Those olive trees have been pruned back very hard in the past.

They must be every year to increase olive production. It happens usually in March or April. Olives are harvested in November, when the coldest season has begun.

Maybe it has to do with the natural amount of rain they get. Here olive trees produce enormous amounts of olives whether pruned or not pruned, but they are in landscapes where they get supplemental water.

They always produce a lot of olives but, when pruned, the qty and quality increases.
Here they don't get supplemental water, just rain.

Yes, but I was looking at the trunks.

I've found this one.
It's the oldest olive tree in Portugal with a beautiful age of 3.350 years.
Its location is near from here, 10 kms or 6 miles.
Need to find it and visit.
