T. velickiana These are new here for us and they have just adjusted to our climate after being in a cold part of Australia and housed in a hot house.

The 1st posting of a lichen by me here.
Now the start to something I have been up to for longer than I care to say. I will find the name of this lichen. This lichen I have harvested from my own grown stock.
It sells mostly to terrarium people. Placing sphagnum moss under this lichen helps it to keep up to the water needs of a Tillandsia. When it changes bright dark red it is as dry as and will soon turn to dust without water. It has this real nice orange colour when happy. Turns green then yellow before it turns to slime from being too wet.
It is hanging from the roof.
It is the Golden Hair-lichen Teloschistes flavicans. It is very rare and is a different shape in different places around the world. A very, very old plant. They are exstremely pollution sensitive.
