Will have to wait till it flowers before we can get a true idea of its name. Thank you for posting.
Thanks!

I’ll follow up with flowers eventually!

Summer is gone and it is starting to get cool in Australia.

Tillandsia cotton candy compacta is one of my favorite plants. Just love its shape. Growing very nicely here.

Different stages of T.cotton candy compacta flowering.

A good image of Tillandsia ionantha mexicoana

Took awhile to get over it...... Sometimes things do not go our way.

Back in Jan this year a fire got flames to within 3' or 1m of the east open wall one of our Tillandsia bush houses.

The result was catastrophic loosing about 25% of plants in the bush house. It has been a long search for plants coming off the dead parents for months. The very little that was left has been finished off with the recent cold weather.

4 -5 months later and everything is growing and there is lots of new plants. Am over it all now. Only plant I really miss is my collection of about 150 x Tillandsia chiapensis

Image: My 3rd and last lot of dead plants like this amount for the compost bin.

I feel for you Kg5!

Mother nature (and life in general) can definitely throw some wicked curve balls our way. Glad to know you got up, brushed off the dust, and back in the saddle again. Hope you are able to get your T. chiapensis collection back on track.

That is horrible and tragic but I am also glad it was not worse. Happy you are well and safe and over the loss.

That is awful but I am glad it was not worse for you.
The picture of those dead ones reminds me that I need to remove a few that produced pups and then expired.
