Finally a free moment!
It came at the expense of my daughter's ankle - she badly sprained it today, thank goodness its not broken! But it means we're 'resting' and I've got time to say and let you all know I've missed you guys!
Can't wait to jump back into things...
To start off with a bang, I did go to a local orchid show yesterday and brought home young plants of the following:
Maxillaria picta IOSPE PHOTOS
Phaius tankervilleae IOSPE PHOTOS
Dendrobium speciosum IOSPE PHOTOS
Lalia pupurata ('Treasure of Carpinteria' x var. werkhauseri) IOSPE PHOTOS

Oops, and how could I forget

added to my now quite big (for me) Paph collection. Paphs now make up over 25% of my collection! (And its all your fault - too many beautiful photos posted here!)

I really missed your smiling face (not that I've actually seen it, except in cyberspace ) Missed your input on messages. Glad all is well with your daughter.
Sounds like a real haul there. Hope you have space. If not you know where you can dump them

Well, Ross... while I was cleaning out the rest of the house, I had a good look at my orchids. (I knew there was an OB Project coming up, and I remember what happened last time! ) I happened to be talking to a friend who lives in Oxford and he mentioned that he loved Masdevallias but always thought that they would require too much work for him to grow - so-o-o-o guess who got a nice little selection of easy to grow Masdie hybrids?? That freed up enough space for new additions - these and the Project plant, as well as some travelling companions.
You know I missed you too!! Every time I brought rainwater in to water the plants, I've thought about you and your RO water! (I guess I just need to make up for lost time!!)
On a serious note, please give your wife my condolences... (just catching up on other threads and heard about her loss...)

Shak's back!! Hey we've missed you big time! Sorry to hear your daughter sprained her ankle. Hope she's feeling better soon. Glad it gave you an excuse to come back and visit us.
I've been looking at my plant shelves with a more critical eye lately. I've got some serious space hogs in my grow area that are underperformers. Might be time to find new homes for them. I need to make more room for slippers! I picked up 3 new ones while you were away.

Dorothy, thanks so much.. I really missed the 'support' and encouragement of this group. But, just no time to sit at the computer! Now, with my daughter on crutches and told to rest with her foot elevated to reduce the swelling, I can also do some resting with my feet up, too!
The orchid bug, once truly bitten, never goes away! If anything, it only gets worse as you go along - the more you know, the more new and interesting varieties you can find to drool over!

Sue, Its not too bad, just slightly torn ligaments - which seem to be really painful! Last night was her first night trying to sleep with a swollen, tender foot. Poor baby woke herself up in the middle of the night when she moved her foot in her sleep - the paracetemol had worn off, so I was up letting her take another one. I had flashbacks of when she was a baby and didn't sleep through the night!
She'll be fine, kids heal relatively quickly.
See you on the chat tonight!

Whoa! Terri! How awesome are those!? Nice additions! We must really be on the same wavelength, as I have added more Paphs than everything else put together in past few months. I've not updated my plant list here yet with the new Paphs - but did you see the list of ones I got around the middle of Feb? I think I put that list in the February update...
Though, of course, Dens come in a close second to the Paphs, as I keep seeing these kingianum hybrids with such great scent, I can't resist!
Seems without me realising it, I've gone from a collection of Pleuros to two collections: Slippers and Dens.
I can't wait to see what other stuff you add!
