Skunk Cabbage
Hi all,
One of the first blooms of the year. Often you can see these blooming through the ice as they produce their own heat that is sufficiently intense to melt through the ice. The warm blooms will attract any pollinators that may be active in the winter months.

What a great photo! I haven't seen skunk cabbages for many years but they were quite plentiful in a part of the woods that grew behind my childhood home (It was near a stream and very wet).

Aroids can be almost as fascinating as orchids...

Thanks all! Believe it or not, Aroids were my gateway plant into the plant hobby. It's the first plant I was allowed to care for (Zyngonium, Arrowleaf). I've had a life long fascination with Aroids.
Thanks for the compliments.
