Yorktown Day is in the Virginia state constitution as a holiday, but it is only officially celebrated in York County.

A day worthy of celebration! Sadly constitutions aren't what they used to be.

It still isn't a very big celebration, just a parade and a wreath laying ceremony, and the Womens Club makes homemade brunswick stew, ham biscuits and various pies.
I have bought two plants from Floradise at the orchid show, but I have not been able to get out to their greenhouse. I really need to contact them and see if they still have one of the plants I got, because it got some infection and died on me really suddenly, and I really liked it
I hadn't either but I do love to hear about our History as most don't talk about it anymore. It's good they celebrate something so long ago and I hope it will continue.
I agree Subrosa, just remember.....a fish rots from the head down.
