Yes they are common but not so much that they are not appreciated. It's always a gift to see these in our parks as they are usually found by the wetlands near the coast.

The Black-throated Green Warbler. I prefer calling it the Black-throated Goldenhead, but no one will change their name just for me. In the Spring it's black throat is more pronounced.

Amazing, where are you birding? We are great hawk watchers. We often count when we are driving. We should have a bumper sticker thats says " beware road birders on board." For several years we had a Sharp Shinned pair nesting in our poplar tree. We fed them...don't ask for detail. Soon we will be going down to see the Sandhill Cranes. I will take my camera so you can see them all! Thank you for the picture! I love those confusing warblers.

Hi, I bird my local parks in Queens NY, or sometimes also the surrounding metropolitan area.

The Northern Parula. The colours on this fall bird are a bit bland. In the spring everything is more intense. I call this one the rainbow icy bird because it has everything from red to orange and yellow and a little green and blue around it's breast and back. Especially that collar/neck area, looks yummy, I mean, beautiful!
