I've seen these smothering palm trees in Hawaii! They get huge!! I think you also need two separate, non-related plants for successful fertilization. That's what I heard living in Hawaii and my selfing attempts on a dragonfruit in my backyard didn't work. The fruit is pretty tasty though!
