WOW!! Great pictures. I agree it is too bad that these animals along with many others are losing their homes. I would hope that living anywhere close to wild animals, the homes would have thick enough windows, doors, etc to protect the ones inside.

These are from a guy out at Watonga, Oklahoma. The pictures were taken from his kitchen onto his patio deck. The critter was watching his little kids playing on the kitchen floor!
Watonga is about 25 miles north of I 40 between OK City and Weatherford.

he-he... I think this is the part when you hear: "I tawt I taw a puddy tat!"... "I did, I did taw a puddy tat!"

Gorgeous animal... I had the chance to see one once in the wild (Venezuela) but it was less confident than the one in these Pics. When it realized I was on its way, it just jumped out of the path and dissapeared...

Missouri conservation said we did not have any here several years ago . I had one try to kill a pony colt and later was just outside the yard fence , Later was stalking a new calf , I shot over it's head afraid I would hit the cow or calf .
We were on the Big Niangua River at the time . later Conservation admitted they are here . Gin

He looks like just a youngster. We have them around here. I see their tracks a lot when we take the dogs for a walk on the Jacksonville woodland trail. They come down out of the hills during drought times looking for water. One tried to jump through someone's living room window in Central Point just a few miles south of here some years ago. They think it got disoriented and could see through the glass and out the back of the house. It hit the window thinking it could go all the way through. Thank goodness for tempered glass!

Thats gives a new meaning to why you tell kids there are monsters in the night. Brings me back to the days when people used to get eaten all the time by predators. Yikes!!!

What a beautiful animal! Isn't it a shame they are running out of habitat.

We have them here in Arkansas, too, but we don't often see them and especially not at that close range.

Gin, I'm glad you were able to save your colt. My sister had a pack of wild dogs attack and bring down an elderly cow. Even though her husband was able to shoot some of them and run the rest off, the cow was terrified and badly biten. The dogs went straight for her udder. I guess that's a tender spot.

It wasn't a pretty sight or sound.

Wow, what a beautiful cat! I love animals, but I would be upset if it was looking at my kid like he was a snack.
