1st Hand Sewn Leather goods from RJ
Hi yall!!!
read the book, bought the tools, thread, leather (3 kinds) and made these in about a week. They are expensive!!
I restitched them in Red thread. They sew up pretty easily once you punch thousands of little holes( the ones in your hands dont count), they dont un-sew so easily. Once you cinch the thread up it takes some effort to peel it apart.
The leather is 3 layers top is stamped alligator middle is 6 oz saddle leather and the bottom is pig suede bec its soft and dont want to scratch my tank up. Not ready to sew up real alligator or other hides while Im learning but Im getting good at this fast. I get to watch me orchids grow while I sit and sew . Who could have imagined? Not I..
Ill get some updated pic of the red thread it really made the pieces jump out some. I am having fun and I sure hope you are all havin fun too!!! Im still here just rather quite while the buds are tryin to bloom.
4225 miles I have gone doing what I call idiot loops around town. I dont go anywhere I just ride in circles

Great! When I started reading the post I only saw the first photo, so I had no idea of what size the pieces are. Then I read you didn't want to scratch your "tank" and I wondered whether you were making an ornament for an orchid terrarium! I couldn't figure it out until I saw the photo of your bike. Nice!

Lol, same here - saw the first pic and wondered what the heck the pieces were. A weird belt? Something for a shoe? Then I saw the bike and I got it. Looks great!

way off topic hey...
Its pretty simply made stuff for the 1st attempt. Its hard for me to draw a straight line so it was challenging to say the least.
It will not make you all feel well but I topped 100mph today for the 1st time. I wont ever do that again it was too scary and if anything goes wrong your dead. Im not an adrenaline junky I find out and thank goodness. I think Ill have a seat and make me some chaps. Where's my needle and thread!!!
P.S. got some blooms on the way so pics coming
Thanks you all

The fastest I went on two wheels was 90 mph. I bow to your courage.
A custom seat and chaps will be cool!
Ride safe...

I think courage happens before stupidity settles in
and road hazards. We call treads off semi's in the road 'street gators".
today a motorcycle policemen lost his life. He hit a stray cow in the road with his cycle.
I was 10 seconds ahead of him. The grim reaper was out.
He outran his headlights. Yes its possible in the dark to travel at a speed that your eyes cant adjust to the darkness and in effect you cant see.
Thank you I will be safe and that brought me down to earth really fast and Im still cant beleive it. I never saw the cow either but I didnt hit it.

I also thank the higher power over us all that has provided me with a very powerful guardian angel. I do not endeavor to tempt it into action. Its had me by the belt loop for many years. I trust the voice in my head that tells me to look out before I know what Im lookin out for.
