I happened to obtain a chick and raised in the city (not sure if allowed or not). Well the chick was raised like a pet and tamed, but we knew it would enevitably be harvested. It was better tasting than any chicken off the shelf. Perhaps it was the freshness or the food it was fed and freedom to run around. It was not caged up and we even built a house for it. And she was even older than the usual chicken before harvest. There was no way to keep it because of the winter and the original plan was food anyway, so we had grandma kill and cook it.

There isn't much you can do about the mass production of animals for consuption other than not eat meat completely. Its not economical to raise all chickens like pets, so I don't blame the chicken farms. Unless you want the price of your chicken to be doubled/tripled in price.

And there is a definite taste difference between fresh fish and one that was frozen, and live shimps versus frozen ones. I don't blame supermarkets for keeping the alive before purchase.

That would not be allowed in this country He would be sent to jail. Also African Blacks for some reason are very scared of frogs and it is considered bad luck to kill one . So that shop would soon have to close .What a pity your frogs are not poisonous like some of ours are. My dog bit one a little while ago , it cost me a fortune in vets fees
