My bf mom has a lot of interesting plants outside. However; since she never planted any of them; she doesn't know what they are. Yet alone me.. However I do know that the one plant isn't mint; it smells completely different then mint. I truly appreciate the help.

5. looks more specifically like a Cosmos. You'll know when it blooms!

6. Are the leaves fuzzy? If so, it's probably Stachys byzantina (Lambs' ears).

I considered Cosmos for #5, but from what I can tell in the pic the plant doesn't look tall enough to be a Cosmos in bud. All the Cosmos I've grown have been 4'+ tall plants. But as you say the bloom will tell!

Thinking further, I'm a bit more certain #5 is Coreopsis. Cosmos are not hardy in the region the op and I live in, while Coreopsis are. Cosmos can self seed of course, but I don't think they'd be so far along, particularly after this past winter.

I was thinking cosmos also but now I think your right from seed they would not be that far along. There is however a shorter kind of cosmos which I like to use in my pots sometimes. I can't at the moment remember what they are called but they are oranges and yellow. I have only seen them in a mix but the leaves are different than the others. They are wider then the normal ones. Jewel something keeps coming to my mind.

Also there are allot of different mint type plants. spearmint, choc mint and so on. And I was going to say lambs ear as well.

Now that you mention it, #4 does look like a mint of some sort. Op, is the stem rather square in cross section? A dead giveaway that you're looking a a mint

Well I'll take more pictures of it. Though I know its not mint nor choc. Mint. But I did look up herbs and mint family online. I'm trying to find a similar one. Cause the leaves go from wide o very thin and pointy at the tip.

#4 looks like a Monarda, aka 'bee balm', which is in the mint family, Lamiaceae. Also called 'bergamot mint' because the fragrance and flavor resemble bergamot orange, which provides the distinctive flavor of Earl Grey tea.

Good call on #4. A mint that doesn't smell like a typical mint.
