Spanish Bluebell (hyacinthoides hispanica)
Every year in May, these come into bloom on a meadow at Brooklyn Botanical Garden.
What a sight!

Gorgeous, I love these.
They were in bloom a few weeks back in the woodland areas around us, including places we drive through and see them either side of the road. I've also spotted them in a lot of road verges this year where I wouldn't have expected them.

There is one particular road that is so beautiful when they are out. When I was a child we used to visit this area every easter, and we always hoped for an easter that corresponded to the bluebells being out because we had to drive up that road with them every side of us. My Grandma especially loved them. Now I live nearby I see them every year and always think of her

That is great!
Yeah, I think it is the right combination of the amount of sun, surrounding woodland, etc. that make a nice setting.
I love this tone of color in general, and seeing so many of them covering a large area gives me indescribable feeling!
Now, I wonder what it would be like to see a field of white variety or pink variety. I'm sure it would be amazing, but different sentiment.

Definitely beautiful, but given the setting I'd rather see Virginia Bluebells, Mertensia virginica. Throw in some Woodland Poppy, Stylophorum diphyllum and some Woodland Phlox, Phlox divaricata and you have a North American woodland scene that will take your breath away!
