The Northern Parula,
Looks like an Italian Icy with multiple flavours in the spring, now it looks a little yellow, a little blue, a little green, depending on the lighting. Still an awesome tiny Warbler.

Dear All,
Here is the Black-and-White Warbler. It's plumage is unchanged through the seasons with the exception that perhaps in the spring the contrast is more pronounced. In the spring migration, when you see this bird, you know that you are soon to be in the thick of it (migration that is). In the fall these birds will pass through New York City from mid August to early November. Sometimes a few individuals fail to migrate further south. They have the peculiar habit of creeping on tree trunks moving up and down the trees like brown creepers and nuthatches in search of food. Enjoy.

I'd say we are the lucky ones! You and friends seem to be at the right place at the right time. I can count almost all the feathers from your shots. TY

Thanks all, I'm glad you all like it. Here is one more. Its a confusing fall warbler. It could be one of three species at first glance. The lack of bright oranges on the face means its not a Cape May Warbler. The lack of orange toes or feet (legs) means its not a Blackpoll Warbler. That leaves Pine Warbler. The big thick bill is a tell-tale sign that its a Pine. Looks very different from what it looks like in the Spring. Check out the first page of this thread for Pine Warbler.

I haven't gotten to go out birding lately, so it's wonderful to get to see them digitally... and at least pretend! Wonderful photos of some wonderful birds.

Here is another plain one. At least its plain in the Fall. In the Spring its one of the first bright yellow birds to arrive. It also comes with a rufous head cap so its extra pretty. Now it looks totally different.
