Now all you need is some good weather to go riding!!
We went for a nice ride on my boyfriend's motorcycle (nothing like yours, it's a Yamaha XJ6 Diversion) on Sunday to spend an evening with friends that live 45min away. It was sunny and warm, and felt so great to be out on the bike. But on the way back, at 11pm, wow was it cold!!! Leather doesn’t do much against the cold, though I was still glad to be wearing my motorcycle pants and not jeans! And then it got much much worse when we got on the highway and picked up speed. So freakin cold, I was an icicle by the time we got home. But it was still nice to be out on the bike, I'll just dress a bit more warmly next time we're out late!

Forum update is what happened! It counted all the likes you have every gotten.
Oh, and on the highway we weren't going anywhere near 60mph... The speedlimit is at 80mph here, and let's just say that since the highway was empty and it was late we were going a "tad" faster. It got really hard to keep a good grip and had to work my abs hard to brace against the wind, even when protected by the driver. And the frigid wind was getting up inside my helmet, making my nose run and my eyes cry.
Haven't had a chance to ride in fog yet, it's another thing to look forward to!

80..you all need to slow down and enjoy the ride.
Dont fight the fun!!! I like about 55. I never in a hurry and get home before dark. Im still getting my riding senses. Things like dont ride in cars blind spots, dont get stuck behind garbage trucks, and be careful when you have to get off and rescue a turtle in the middle of the road.
Heh ya thats my new thing is on my rides I pick turtles up in the road and put them back in the water. They get stuck and cant get over the curbs and they need helps. I dont like people to run them over. They should get out and pick them up instead they think its fun to crush them. Makes me sad to see smached turtles in the roads.
Im "tommy the turtleman"

We usually enjoy more the moderately paced rides as well, but highway is so extremely boring that we might as well get it over with faster. We took backroads part of the way, but there's a 20km section of the trip where you just can't avoid the highway.
There are turtles wandering about where you live?? Neat! And good that you try to help the poor things cross the roads. They sure can't get out of the way very quickly. I despise people who intentionally swerve to hit an animal in the middle of the road. How can someone think it's fun to do that??

I know you all were waiting for me to post this.
I dropped my bike today . Got a flat and was working on figuring out what was wrong and went to move it and forget I had the forks locked. Didnt get very far before the bad horsey slammed down and threw me about 4 ft. Damn I bounce pretty good off concrete. My head hurts got a noogie on my elbow and knee.
Found out the hardway when a spoked tire gets a nail in it you have to replace the rubber. 275.00 flat tire and some bruises. Im going to watch orchids the next few days that wore me out.
Should feel good sitting around the house tending to the plants and my wounds

Sorry to hear you decided to find out if you bounce. Much damage to the horsey? BTW, always put turtles off the road in the direction they were headed. Egg laying time is upon us. We get several nests built in our yard every year and we are always on the lookout for the ones that get trapped inside our fence. Last year I lifted a huge snapping turtle over the fence so she could get back to the water. A couple days after that, I moved one out of the road in front of our home and some lady came along about 5 minutes later and put it in her trunk. Made me so mad. I like turtle, but not during the breeding season!

RJ, so glad your all right, you must be careful.
Jonada why do you think the woman put it in her truck? My dear hubby is one big turtle freak. He gets so mad when people run over them. I really wonder what is wrong with people? How cool to have them make nests in your yard. My stinking dogs would probably try and eat the baby's.
