Oh yes, this is a South Africa species, small species which can be grown in pots, in doors.

South Africa must be beautiful indeed with so many beautiful blooms to show off. You even have your own distinct flora by the cape.

Yes, the Western Cape of South Africa is a fabulous and special biosphere that extends up into the Namib desert. There is a large group of very special and fascinating plants, commonly refered to as mesembs or Mesembryanthemum. I'm sure you have heard of this plants, they are quite popular as garden plants.
I live in a country called Zimbabwe which is not in the bio area. I have been growing a number of special desert plants or stone plants Lithops, Conophytums and Fenastrerias. Infact, I have found these plants to be more of a challenge to grow than orchids are.

I cannot grow Lithops. I have never heard of the others. I have not seen any Mesembryanthemum here in New York. The climate here may not be suitable. They are gorgeous though. Do you grow Stapeliads too?

Actually this one looks more like mine. Searching the name online shows the leaves looks similar.
