Default tile project pII

still workin on the tile and decided to go across the room into the dining. took me a week to chip the old stuff out with a hammer and chisel. wow. I have repetitive shoulder trauma Im telling ya. I could have went and bought a roto hammer but I didnt want to spend the money to get a good one. I can deal with the arm. Its starting to look like Popeye's

then Im going right off into the kitchen for another week of pain and suffering.

and my table I made from an old bamboo set..put slate on the table and recovered the bamboo chairs in cloth. They were going to throw the table and chairs away. I tell em NOOOO. I dont throw nothing out I havent cannibalized. I see things that arent even things yet.

The house has taken up pretty much most of my time the past 4 months. I really need some help but its hard to find a woman who can chop wood then change a flat tire and still look good while shes doing it

Oh, rest assured, there are plenty of capable, handy, and lovely women out there...you just have to know what it takes to attract one. I can have my husband give you some pointers. HA! Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Seriously though...you have done some some really nice work there and your re-purposing is exceptionally clever. Not to mention beautiful. My husband is a serious repurposer too...he sees things in items that I never would have thought of. Many times the final product just blows my mind. Well done, Squirrel! And, good luck, finding that "helper".

Sorry, I'm taken.

Your new tile floor looks beautiful, and the table and chairs likely look better than when they were new.

I have to agree with all of the above. I can chop wood with the best of them, turn wood too as well as many other very useful skills and can look pretty darn good doing it.

I also have to agree that you have done an awesome job on everything. I love the table and chairs. I wish I could find something like that here.

.....its been hard to enjoy the place like I should be when so much needs to be done. Ive just about hit the wall as to what I am physically capable of doing and the extent of the finances. I'm going to be frozen in time with the house soon. The previous owners stayed stuck in time for 15 years and that why it needs so much done.

New cabinets and new windows will pretty much be whats left to contract out. Rebuild the 2 bathrooms and do them in travertine. I have a 3 car garage thats half built out. Never got finished from previous owner. It need to be torn out and a Re-Do. I dont like what they did...Ill get to the end of it eventually. I just hope I still have some wits left..

On the patio I'm going to have a solarium built when I win the lottery

Our home reno projects are never over. We just get things caught up and the original jobs now need to be re - done cause it's 20 years later! It's either time or money that is always lacking

I love doing remodels. My hubby and I are real do it yourselfers. In fact he just finished a portable cabinet for the kitchen today. Also getting the kiddos a fish tank for Christmas and he made a really cool stand for it. I would love to have your place to upgrade (and the cash to pay for it of course).

I'm having fun

I been practicing that Deepak Chopra type thinking. If you havent heard of him hes one of Oprahs sidekicks. Travels on tour with her giving those how to change your life in a positive way by changing how you think about yourself and others around you seminars. Have a plan and Have the life you want thru the power of positive thinking prayer meditation and action. "I planning on doing the patio in kentucky bluestone I know I am. Its going to look great. Ill be so happy when its done" Then it will just happen. Right!!!!!

(Now If I would just shut up about that orchid virus!!!)
